Durango’s School District 9-R’S Summer Food Program has started at Santa Rita Park. Pueblo Community College has received accreditation for its nursing degree. And mark your calendars for tickets to the Four Corners Professional Women’s Summit this fall. Durango School District 9-R launched its summer food service program this week, which will run Monday through Thursday every week until July 27th. The program administered by the US Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Services is open to all children up to the age of 18, regardless of meal benefit eligibility or school district enrollment. For Durango area individuals, come find the program at Santa Rita Park between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Find more locations by visiting the Kids’ Food Finder map or by calling the Hunger Free Hotline. The nursing program at Pueblo Community College is getting a boost receiving accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education for its baccalaureate degree program in nursing. The BSN program was already endorsed by PCC’s accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission. But Pueblo Community College has pursued the additional accreditation to ensure the highest standards for students as well as the communities served by program graduates. The Four Corners Professional Women’s Summit will return this fall. The event which encourages networking and connecting for professional women of all ages in the Four Corners area will be November 8th and 9th. The theme this year is “The Balancing Act” and will feature a variety of speakers and opportunities to meet other women from all over the region. Registration opens July 17th.
