1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Local News Network platform (“LNN”) at lnn.news, or through our mobile application available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

Local News Network, Inc. reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Platform following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

2. Description of Service

LNN is a local news and community information platform providing news coverage, community content, local business information, and related features for communities in Colorado and New Mexico. The Platform is free to use and supported by advertising.

LNN offers the following core features:

  • Local news stories and community information

  • User profiles, which are synced across your devices and the mobile app

  • User-generated content including community submissions such as coupons and sports highlights

  • Location-based content personalized to your community

LNN is an independent media platform. We are not affiliated with any government entity, political organization, or commercial brokerage.

3. Eligibility

The Platform is open to the general public and is designed to be family-friendly. By using the Platform, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are under the age of 13, you may not register for an account. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials across all devices.

4. User Accounts and Profiles

When you register for an account, you may create a user profile that is synchronized across your devices and our mobile application. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials

  • Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account

  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You may delete your account at any time by visiting your Account Profile page. Account deletion will remove your profile and associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. User-Generated Content

Submission

Any registered user may submit content to the Platform, including but not limited to community coupons and sports highlights. By submitting content, you grant Local News Network, Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote that content on the Platform and in related marketing.

Publication

Submitted content is subject to review and approval before publication. LNN reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve, reject, edit, or remove any submitted content at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to content that:

  • Is false, misleading, or defamatory

  • Infringes on any third-party intellectual property rights

  • Contains obscene, offensive, or inappropriate material

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation

Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you submit. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to submit the content and that it does not violate the rights of any third party.

6. Acceptable Use

By using the Platform, you agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful content

  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others

  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or circumvent the Platform’s security measures

  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or harvest content without prior written consent

  • Interfere with the operation of the Platform or its underlying infrastructure

7. Advertising

The Platform is free to use and supported by advertising served through AdButler. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that:

  • Advertisements may be displayed alongside content

  • Ad content is provided by third-party advertisers and does not constitute endorsement by LNN

  • AdButler’s own terms and privacy policy govern the delivery of advertisements

8. Analytics and Tracking

We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform. This may involve the collection of usage data, device information, and general location data. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on data collection and your choices.

9. Intellectual Property

The LNN name, logo, branding, and all original editorial content published by Local News Network, Inc. are the property of Local News Network, Inc. The Platform’s source code, design, and proprietary features are confidential and proprietary.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from LNN’s original content without prior written consent. User-submitted content remains the property of its respective authors, subject to the license granted in Section 5.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOCAL NEWS NETWORK, INC. AND ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRIBUTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Inaccuracies in news content or community information

  • Content submitted by users

  • System outages, downtime, or technical failures

  • Loss of user data

  • Unauthorized access to your account

  • Any damages arising from third-party service failures, including Firebase, Supabase, AdButler, or Google Analytics

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Local News Network, Inc. and its operators from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or any content you submit.

12. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, particularly in cases of Terms violations.

You may delete your own account at any time by visiting the Account Profile page.

13. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services that have their own terms and conditions. By using LNN, you acknowledge the involvement of the following services:

LNN is not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, with proceedings conducted in Durango, Colorado.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
