The local news network offers our condolences to the friends and family of Sergeant Michael Moran. According to a press release from the city of Cortez, Sergeant Moran served his country as a Marine for nine years, including two tours in Iraq. Sergeant Moran joined the police department in Cortez in 2012 and rose through the ranks, becoming a canine handler in 2016 with canine partner Otto, who served by his side until retiring in 2020. Sergeant Moran will be remembered by his fellow officers for his dedication and sense of humor.
