Durango has a packed weekend ahead with the Mesa Verde Foundation‘s 120th Anniversary Celebration of Mesa Verde National Park on Friday, June 5, the 2nd Annual Rough Stock Challenge at the La Plata County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 6, and the Durango Cowboy Gathering‘s 12th Annual Barn Dance, Picnic, and Silent Auction on Sunday, June 7.

On Friday, June 5th, the Mesa Verde Foundation is hosting a 120th anniversary celebration of Mesa Verde National Park at the ESO Terra Arboretum from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The evening event will feature live music, light bites, door prizes, and EsoTerra Ciderworks wines and cider available for purchase. Tickets are $30 and are available at mesaverdefoundation.org. On Saturday, June 6th, the 2nd annual Rough Stock Challenge will be held at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. A youth rodeo kicks off at 10:00 AM with the main event happening at 7:00 PM with bronc riding, bull riding and the top three youth competitors from earlier in the day invited to compete with the Pros. And on Sunday, June 7th, the Durango Cowboy Gathering will host its 12th annual Barn Dance, Picnic, and Silent Auction at River Bend Ranch. From 5:00 to 8:00 PM the Desert Thunder Band will perform while guests enjoy food from Porky’s Smokehouse and Cuevas Tacos.
