The four Coroners Film Festival brings directors and filmmakers to Farmington, September 12th and 13th. The San Juan Medical Foundation Walk-a-Thon invites the community to support cancer care services and stage two water restrictions take effect as the city of Aztec responds to worsening drought conditions. The Four Corners Film Festival is Friday and Saturday, September 12th and 13th at the TODA Theater. The festival highlights local and out of state filmmakers with an emphasis on sharing indigenous voices and Southwest scenery. Films vary in length from short films under 15 minutes to full length features that run for more than an hour. The festival also includes discussions and question and answer sessions with directors, documentarians and other guests. All access passes are available online for $20. At the San Juan Medical Foundation’s 45th annual walk-a-thon. Walkers of all fitness levels are invited to join other supporters On Saturday, September 13th at Lock Street Eats on Lock Avenue and Main Street check in and late registration begins at 7:00 AM activities at 7:45 AM and the walk at 8:00 AM individuals and organizations can walk, sponsor a walker, volunteer, or donate to the cause event proceeds support the Connolly Hospitality House and the San Juan Medical Foundation. The city of Aztec entered a stage two water shortage emergency on Monday, August 18th. The emergency declaration includes watering restrictions for residents, businesses, and facilities that use city water. City water cannot be used to fill pools, hot tubs, or water features. The city manager will consult with the parks director and water chief operator to determine an operation schedule for the city’s splash park. Restrictions will remain in effect. Until further notice, city officials advise citizens to review the water shortage stages in preparation for a continued drought.
