Purgatory resort opened on Saturday, Nov. 21, for the 2020-21 ski season amidst rising cases of COVID-19, but resort officials say they believe that skiers and snowboarders can be safe if they wear their masks, practice social distancing, and come prepared to stay outside, because indoor facilities will be closed.
