Jaynes Corp. marked 50 years in the Four Corners, celebrating the 1976 opening of its Farmington office with subcontractors, community partners and the local institutions it helped build. The employee-owned commercial contracting business builds schools, offices and retail space.
“If you step foot anywhere in this community, there’s probably a 50% chance you’re stepping on some Jaynes concrete,” said Jeremiah Hayes, vice president of Jaynes Corp.’s Four Corners division.

So today we get to celebrate 50 years of our presence here in the four corners. So it was 1976 is when we first moved up here. Kind of some debate on when our first project was. It was probably significantly before that, but we opened an office here in Farmington in 1976, 50 years ago. So we’re here celebrating that, inviting all of our community partners, our subcontractors, some of our major institutional partners that we’ve grown up with here in the community. But on behalf of Jaynes, I just want to thank you guys for coming. At Jaynes, what we say is we build for the communities that we live in and we want them to thrive for the long term. And that really is what our heart and soul is as an employee owned company. On three, one, two, three. Look forward to an amazing other 50 years where we can celebrate our hundred year anniversary. But truly institutions like San Juan College, Farmington Municipal Schools, Navajo Prep, you guys have built us just as much as we built you.
Well, Jane’s originally built our new high school. They did a wonderful job, so we wish them nothing but the best. And when we heard about it, it’s like we just need to be here to support them. Jaynes is a new chamber member to us, but we’re thrilled to have them. And they’ve been in business for 50 years building and supporting our community. And so we’re really excited for their anniversary today and even more excited to see what the next 50 years bring.
At Jaynes, our vision is to, our purpose is to see our communities thrive for the long term. That really is the heart and soul of the company is to literally build our communities with the buildings that we build. We’re a commercial contractor, so we build schools, office buildings, retail, anything commercial that you can see. So I like to tell people, if you step foot anywhere in this community, there’s probably a 50% chance you’re stepping on some Jaynes concrete. We pour concrete, that’s one of the things we self-perform. And then our major service is general contracting and putting these buildings together for our communities. Some of the stuff they’ve built has changed this community immensely and the quality that they build things, it’s just hard to beat. We are actually right in the middle of brainstorming as a leadership group, what our presence is going to look like and feel like for the next 50 years. Certainly we’ll continue the heart and soul of our company, which is building things, pouring concrete, nailing wood, kind of interacting with those things and making things out of nothing for our community members. But we’re experimenting with maybe some different ventures, maybe some supply. We love concrete and so participating as much as we can in that, maybe some light manufacturing. But yeah, the future’s bright. Adding more families to our group. There’s about 61 families right now that are part of Jane’s just here in the four corners. And we’re pretty proud of that legacy of giving them a great wage to work and live and support their families and giving their kids the futures that we all got.
