Registration is open now. A draft restoration plan created from grant proposals for funds from the settlement of the Gold King Mine spill is expected to be revealed March 31st. State officials received 17 proposals, totaling $28 million for the $10 million fund earmarked for the restoration program from the $32 million settlement between the State of New Mexico and the US Environmental Protection Agency. The proposals came from the cities of Farmington, Aztec, and Bloomfield, San Juan County, the Navajo Nation’s Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Navajo Nation’s Upper Fruitland Chapter. The deadline for the draft proposal has been extended by three months in part to add an engineering feasibility study to the plan. Once the draft plan is released, there will be a 30-day public comment period and a final plan will be released after all comments have been reviewed. San Juan Regional Medical Center announced its acquisition of the O-Arm Surgical Imagery System, the first and only of its kind in the Four Corners area. O-Arm is a mobile intraoperative imagery system that can provide real-time imaging in two and three dimensions to better assist surgeon accuracy. The technology will enhance minimally invasive surgical approaches, reduce the risk of complications, improve surgical operations, and much more. The O-Arm system will improve the surgical operations and offerings at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Learn more about these and other stories online at farmingtonlocal.news.
