Extreme Dry Weather Cancels July 4th Fireworks

The city of Durango canceled the 4th of July fireworks as a drought. Precaution music in the mountains brings free concerts to local parks and the 90th annual Fiesta Day’s Rodeo is Back. The city of Durango canceled this year’s 4th of July fireworks display because of drought conditions, but you can still find plenty to celebrate. The city has planned a full week of events, including parades. A barbecue, 5K runs in a street dance. Find the schedule on the city of Durango. Website. Music in the mountains will bring world class classical music to Durango Parks. Five free concerts are scheduled from July 10th through 12th. The concerts will take place at Cottonwood Park, three Springs Plaza, Claire Viles Park, and Buckley Park. The series also includes concerts in Bayfield, mancuss, and Ignacio. The biggest rodeo of the year is back the Durango Fiesta Days Rodeo celebrates its 90th anniversary from July 19th through the 27th. Since 1935, this rodeo has been one of the area’s longest running traditions. It pays tribute to Durango’s Western heritage and agricultural roots.
