Farmington Police Department Receives Grant

Farmington Police Department is the recipient of a $250,000 grant which it plans to use as a retention bonus for current officers. Farmington police Department has announced it has received $250,000 from a state grant program that aims to support New Mexico’s police departments through cash grants to law enforcement agencies. The grant money is part of the Law Enforcement Recruitment Fund, which is passed during the last legislative session and aims to help fill funding gaps in agencies across the state. The money will be divided into three installments, $112,500 this year, $112,500 next year, and the remaining balance the third year. San Juan Regional Medical Center has announced a telehealth partnership with its Childbirth Center and Presbyterian Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The partnership, enabled by the purchase of an Amwell Telemedicine Cart, will allow for San Juan Regional Medical Center to keep newborns who require a higher level of care in its Level Two Special Care Nursery instead of needing to transfer them to another facility. This means that infants in need of specialized care can stay closer to family, but benefit from Presbyterian specialists 24/7 with the use of the Amwell Telemedicine Cart.
